A simple test you can do to determine if a stain is removable is to take a clean damp sponge or white towel and blot the middle of the stain. If the spot's color or substance transfers into the towel, the chance goes up that a more thorough professional effort will remove all the material. If no color or substance transfers into the towel, or the edge of the spot doesn't budge, chances are higher the stain is permanent.

Even though there are sadly some color-containing and caustic substances, food and drink dyes, bleach, acid and pet urine that can permanently stain and damage carpet fibers, MR. MR. STEAM LLC wants you to know right up front that dog urine stains, especially the spots that are lighter in color than the carpet or that don't budge when you attempt to clean them with soap and water, are more than likely permanent. The carpet color has most likely been bleached out by the acidic pet urine and repair or replacement of the carpet may be the best solution. Just ask and we will advise.
Pet Odor Treatments
Dog and cat urine spots absorbed into the pile of the carpet are easily washed out with MR. STEAM'S deep machine washing and pile rinsing process. If pet urine damage is more extensive, where the carpet backing and padding are saturated, more extensive measures may be needed to remove these odors and urine residues.
